Neeka looks around and runs through the frigate’s deck plan in her head. She looks at the hanger airlock and sees the turbolaser canons have powered up. The canons are still pointed out into space so it is unlikely they’ll fire unless the shuttle makes it out of the hanger. Neeka also notes the Tractor Beam Emitter power relay in the south of the hanger. It would take a lot to disable it, but the casing is armored (armor 1). She remembers the docking computer is just through the door straight ahead. Neeka also knows that the escape pods are through that door to the north and would bypass most sensors; getting everyone back down the Coruscant. The Luck is in the docking hanger to the south, but she would need physical access to that hangers docking computer to free the Luck. Leaving in the shuttle requires leaving it behind, perhaps forever.
Galactic Master Andrew (GM): For clarity, the Tractor Beam has a soak of 10 but a hit point of one.
So it wouldn’t take a lot to disable, if you can make it through the armor.

Neeka Privirra speaks urgently to the other members of the Womp Rats.
Neeka Privirra: “We have to destroy that Tractor Beam Emitter switch or our escape from this hangar will be very short-lived!”

Neeka Privirra points at the switch with her left hand, but her right reaches out to grab one of the nearby Infantry.

Raine blasts the emitter and then throws open a hatch at his feet. A few quick shots into the floor grate opens a path to the deck below. Raine then turns and yells at the Bothan, “you’re really going to let me get away this easy?”. Raine fires several deadly shots at the feet of the troopers and hops down the hole to the next deck.
ColonelBothan: Don’t let him get away, Everson after him!
Everson motions and heads down the hatch. Three groups of troopers and a commander follow suit. Closing the hatch tight behind them.

Raine Ederron taps his comm. “Jonas. Get the Womp Rats out of here. I’ll lead these guys away and then use an escape pod. I know this vessel like you know your whiskey. Just go!”

Neeka Privirra grits her teeth as the stun pulse passes through her, then looks up at the Commander with her dark, glittering eyes.

Neeka shocks the commander who stumbles; stunned once again by the electricity running through him.
Raine looks down at his gun in disbelief as a deadly blaster bolt strikes Everson in the shoulder, injuring him deeply. Everson eyes at Raine with a hurt look, both physical and emotional. Before a word can be spoken the commander that had followed close behind Everson motions to the troopers above to double time. Nine infantry man drop to the deck as the commander gives orders, “He went lethal! Take him down!”
The commander then reports the attack over the radio and six more troopers rush out of the hanger to cut off Raine’s escape.

I think its a base of Hard and that would get you through in 10 rounds. You could reduce a round of waiting for every 2 extra success, or 4 advantage. Additionally, you can reduce a round by upgrading the difficulty.
Robert H.: and we have to get out in how many rounds?
Jared: What about a base of Simple - he’s putting the hot end into a non-moving object - and then all that 10 rounds stuff?
Because otherwise, we might as well just wait and let Neeka open it next round.
We have to get out in 1 more round before Neeka will pass out from strain of suffocation. You’ve got a sealed suit, so you’ve got like 10 rounds.
Galactic Master Andrew (GM): I would agree to simple if this was a locked simple door, how these are blast doors (blast proof doors)
You CAN close the door your just came through and not suffocate. Blast doors like the one you just unlocked are air tight.

The doors creak and groan and the air in the hanger is quickly blown out into space with the loss of the shield holding it in. The Dock Guns begin to power up and the hanger doors continue to slide shut.
Everson continues pursues Raine.

Jonas Rigger jumps into the cockpit and starts the the shuttle up.
Jared: Piloting difficulty?
Galactic Master Andrew (GM): Not required. It’s not locked down or anything.
The shuttle starts right up and hovers over the landing pad, awaiting for pilot input on course and speed and normal flight thingys
Jared: OK, what’s the difficulty to fire up the thrusters in such a way that they heat up the blast door that the Bothan fled through, thus tricking the heat-signature locks on the deck guns that that’s where the shuttle is once it zooms out of the hangar bay?
(Since that’s what I was gonna use any triumph on a take-off roll to do.)
Galactic Master Andrew (GM): I think that cost 2 rounds, but doesn’t need a roll. 1 round to fly backwards against the door and 1 hover in place to heat the blast doors.
Jared: But the deck guns begin firing … after this turn.

Jared: I’d recommend letting the mechanic worry about neutralizing the machines and focusing on the living problems which she can’t handle.

Jonas Rigger slides into the pilot seat with practiced ease and runs through a very rapid pre-flight before gritting his teeth and punching the throttle foward.
Jonas blasts out of the hanger into space as the deck guns fire over his wings. An X-Wing patrol at short range turns in his direction. “Stolen shuttle. This is Raptor 4. Power down your systems and prepare for tow. You’re under arrest.” Another voice comes over the comm. “Sorry Jonas. We’ve got orders.” which is quickly silence by the first. “Can it. Raptor 3. You’ll only make this harder.”

Jonas Rigger keys the comm and says:
Jonas Rigger: Sorry Raptor 4, that’s a negative. My team is NOT going to be some politician’s scape goat. You can have us if you can catch us.
Raptor4: Be advised stolen shuttle. We aren’t equipped with ion weapons. If you resist we’ll have to fire and it will be dangerous try to disable your ship.

Jonas strains himself to shoot through another short cut just before it closes off. Raptor 3 bails from the race and turns back to Coruscant. Magnifiscent: Rather than leave the system, can I make it look like I hit an asteroid and then go silent?
Galactic Master Andrew (GM): Its possible. Leaving the system or landing on Coruscant is required to win the encounter. If you make it out of this race with a win you’ll be left alone on the south side of the field, however if you head north again at any point your capture will be required.
Magnifiscent: I guess I should head out of the system then. I was wanting to make sure the luck gets away, but there isn’t much I can do about that really.
Jonas suddenly pulls back on the stick as an astroid moves into his path, blocking his exit. Jonas notices scorch makes along on side as it spins. Raptor4 must have shot it to close that exit. She pulls in close behind, “You did say the first to the other side of the astroid field right?” and chuckles.
Galactic Master Andrew (GM): Your comms will work through the field (through you may have to roll from time to time). So you can wait to leave until you hear word. You could/should transmit the coordinates to everyone to meet up again.

Jonas Rigger well, you might not fly better, but at least you can hit the broad side of an asteroid!

Jonas Rigger grits his teeth as the effort starts to wear on him.
The hull of the shuttle shakes as Raptor 4 rolls by, barely edging past Jonas, and clearing the astroid field first.
She howls in triumph, “Yeahoooo!” before her tone turns more serious, “okay sir, we had a deal, now stand down and wait for tow.”
Jonas looks at the lone X-Wing before him and must decide to run for it or surrender.

Jonas Rigger lets out a long sigh.
Jonas Rigger: Nice run Raptor 4. I owe you a case of Corellia’s finest. You got me. Let’s head back.
Magnifiscent: Man I want to run…but I can’t see Jonas double-crossing a friendly pilot like that.
I guess he’d go back hoping he bought the Luck enough of a chance to escape.
Jonas Rigger: I won’t take your career down in flames with mine, Raptor 4, but these charges are sith spit.

Jared: I’d like to use the Despair to have the bolt hit a nearby computer panel which fries any and all data keys connected to tracking the escape pod we’re just about to hop into.

Neeka Privirra runs into the escape pod, her headstart enabling her to beat Mada despite his blinding speed.
Jared: I’d like to make a Computers check to adjust / rework the escape pod systems to give Mada better control over where it’s going when he performs his Piloting Space check.
Galactic Master Andrew (GM): You can optimize the controls for an average check (reducing difficulty) or you can try and wire a guidance system out of parts to “fly” the Escape pod move then just safely crashing on the planet for a Daunting check.
Jared: I am intrigued by the second option, and that’s the kind of concept I’m leaning toward. But would it have a tangible effect on the narrative?
Galactic Master Andrew (GM): Essentially it keep the encounter from being over as Mada boards and rolls for the pod. If successful you guys can choose to keep the encounter going (with some danger) or you can describe where you program the pod to go and skip the piloting check all together.
Jared: I’d like some benefits from the piloting check, and I don’t see any advantage to the risk of keeping the encounter going. We’re spent.

Neeka Privirra immediately plugs in to the escape pod’s systems and begins calculating and optimizing for launch and re-entry sequencing.
